High-Pressure Synthesis
Designing and discovering new oxides and mixed-anion compounds through high-pressure routes that are inaccessible at ambient conditions.
Hello, I'm
Postdoctoral Research Fellow · Sun Research Group, University of Michigan
My research involves the synthesis of novel inorganic materials via high-pressure and topochemical methods to investigate the interplay between crystal structure and physical properties.
I'm a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Sun Research Group, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Michigan. I completed my Ph.D. at Kyoto University in 2026 as a JSPS Research Fellow (DC1).
My work sits at the intersection of solid-state chemistry, materials science and condensed-matter physics. So far I have worked on polar metals, mixed-anion compounds, and anion-redox oxides.
Designing and discovering new oxides and mixed-anion compounds through high-pressure routes that are inaccessible at ambient conditions.
Building metastable mixed-anion compounds through topochemical reactions, including anion exchange, the creation of anion vacancies, and the introduction of anion intercalation.
Linking atomic-scale motifs such as anion ordering, polar distortions, and lattice softening to bulk physical properties such as magnetism, transport, and anion-redox electrochemistry.
